• Works with planning leads to construct seasonal merchandise plans and KPI targets. • Develops merchandise strategies and complex assortment plans that are inclusive of tactics by channel, store format, volume, region, and price tiers. • Work closely with vendors and negotiate all facets of product purchase, terms, rtv’s, rebate, price, moq, etc. Ensures vendor compliance and accountability by driving a collaborative partnership. • Leads team in operational excellence to ensure resolution of all internal issues as they relate to Web, Marketing, MIO, Pricing, A/P, etc, as well as, evaluate current process and take initiative to ensure we are working as effectively and efficiently as possible. • Manages Open to Buy, Gross Margin, Rebate, Placement fee and Markdown budget for area of responsibility. • Drives sales results and effective inventory management with pricing strategies that support margin targets and turn goals. Leads team to flawless execution on all activities. • Drives instore assortments, merchandising, planograms, and marketing needs. • Collaborates with stores on requests for new items, additions and special programs. Communicates timely, effectively and proactively with stores to ensure their understanding of projects, goals, targets, and initiatives. • Co-leads team meetings with planner and ensures their effectiveness by reviewing current state of the business, projecting future results and driving to solutions and actions which result in meeting or exceeding budget components. • Prepares for and leads key milestone meetings to include Hindsight, style out, line reviews, and marketing collaboration meetings. • Responsible for creating and maintaining development plans and administering reviews for direct reports. • Additional responsibilities as required.

Fall Semester Responsibilities: - Digital and Print Content Creation: Collaborate with the marketing team to plan, create, and execute engaging content for social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, etc.) and maintain a consistent online presence. - On-Campus Student Experience: Assist in the development and execution of marketing campaigns and on-campus student integrations, including digital marketing, social media, email marketing, and event advertising to engage and enhance the overall student experience. - Experiential Marketing Support: Help promote in-house special events (such as book signings, author visits, and student discount programs) through web, email, digital advertising, and regional marketing strategies. - ECommerce & Consumer Insights: Conduct monthly market research to identify current trends, customer preferences, and competitor analysis to inform marketing strategies. Spring Semester Responsibilities: - Portfolio Project: Combine classroom learning with a real-world project to optimize an area of brand, retail, and consumer marketing for the bookstore. - Research and Analysis: With guidance from the Marketing Manager, conduct in-depth research and analysis on marketing strategies and trends related to the bookstore retail industry, destination retail environments, experiential brand position, or a combination of relevant topics. - Proposal Development: With guidance from the Marketing Manager, draft and develop a comprehensive proposal outlining the optimized marketing strategy and its potential impact on the bookstore's brand and consumer engagement. - Execution and Evaluation: With guidance from the Marketing Manager, create 2-3 KPIs (Key Performance Indicators) to goal around during implementation of proposed marketing strategy, which must include (1) KPI to monitor qualitative and quantitative impact of proposal on key stakeholders. - Collaboration: Collaborate with the marketing team to ensure the project aligns with the bookstore's overall marketing goals.

- In coordination with the store, merchandise and consumer marketing team, manage University of Notre Dame Bookstore localized integrated marketing campaigns (both in-store & online marketing) serving as the direct point of contact to University of Notre Dame Administration, University of Notre Dame Bookstore, and Barnes & Noble College Marketing Team. - Collaborate with the university and bookstore teams to drive the content strategy and ensure that it aligns with university branding guidelines - Oversee partner objectives, manage expectations, and ensure project timelines are met. Proactively communicate any changes or new directions to all stakeholders, including university partners and both internal and external teams. - Work integrally with key internal and external team stakeholders to facilitate the process of developing, executing, and recapping successful marketing programs. - Engage in strategic planning with the Barnes & Noble College Merchandising & Marketing Teams and Fanatics Merchandising & Marketing Teams to identify marketing opportunities, coordinate campaigns, and analyze performance metrics for continuous improvement. - Coordinate with the Manager, Partner Success, to oversee the marketing budget, ensuring optimal allocation of resources and efficient management of expenses. - Continually seek innovative and more efficient work processes, challenging conventional practices and advocating for improvements to enhance our marketing effectiveness. - Fulfill additional duties and take on new challenges as the role evolves and as business needs change.
