To support this mission, we are seeking a Staff Accountant to join our team! The Staff Accountant is responsible for supporting accurate and timely financial reporting through the preparation, analysis, and reconciliation of general ledger accounts. This role plays a key part in the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes, ensuring the integrity of financial data across balance sheet and income statement accounts. In addition to core accounting responsibilities, the position supports lease accounting, accruals, and account analysis while partnering with internal teams and external stakeholders to resolve discrepancies and improve financial processes.

How You'll Make an Impact

  • Prepare, review and record monthly journal entries with supporting schedules and documentation in accordance with GAAP and company policies to ensure accurate financial reporting.
  • Record accruals, prepaid expenses, and related amortization entries for accurate period-end accounting
  • Perform reconciliations and variance analysis for assigned general ledger accounts, including balance sheet and income statement accounts
  • Participate in and supports monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting
  • Assist in the preparation and analysis of internal financial statements and related reporting deliverables
  • Support lease accounting activities, including preparation, maintenance, and reconciliation of related schedules to ensure ongoing compliance with applicable standards
  • Ensure adherence to internal controls and accounting policies through accurate documentation and reconciliation practices
  • Identify and support process improvement and automation initiatives to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and reporting capabilities
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to research, resolve, and prevent accounting discrepancies
  • Exercises sound professional judgment and discretion in the performance of accounting responsibilities and problem resolution
  • Additional responsibilities as required.

What You'll Need to Succeed

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required
  • 1-3 years of general ledger accounting or public accounting experience
  • Strong understanding of general ledger accounting, reconciliations, and variance analysis within a financial reporting environment
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (VLOOKUPs, pivot tables, and related functions); experience with ERP systems preferred (PeopleSoft a plus)
  • High attention to detail with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities focused on financial accuracy and integrity
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to clearly explain accounting issues and variances
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple deliverables in a deadline-driven, fast-paced close environment
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently while effectively collaborating across teams
  • Strong discipline around documentation, accuracy, and adherence to accounting policies and controls

 

Please Note: This is a hybrid role requiring in-office attendance three (3) days per week at our Florham Park, NJ headquarters.  Applicants must be within a commutable distance, as relocation assistance will not be provided.

The hiring range for this position is $60,000 - $62,000 per year. This range represents the base salary only, in good faith at the time of posting. Actual compensation will be determined based on factors such as relevant experience, skills, and qualifications.
